After selling our snow cone business a few years ago we really missed being able to make snow cones whenever we wanted. This machine fits the bill perfectly. I would have given it 5 stars across the board, but you have a little adjustment on the blades. Our last machine allowed you to adjust the pitch angle that the blades contacted the idce at. If the pitch could be made a bit shallower the ice would be even more like snow. For the price, it's still a bargain, and if I stopped by a snow cone stand and got a snow cone with this consistency I would not be upset, I just wouldn't say it was really like snow. I've used several ice shavers to make Halo-Halo which is a Filipino dessert. By far, this appliance is the best I've ever used! The shavings are perfect just like new-fallen snow. I would of given it 5 stars but the shaving blades were recessed behind the guard so it did not shave any ice. Once I took apart the unit and moved the blades out about 2 or 3 millimeters it worked fine. To get it to work expect about 1/2 hour of time and you will need a philips head screw driver and an allen wrench. (Posted on 12/9/2016)

Just recieved mine and was so mad about the not shaved ice. How ever after fiddling with it for a bit I realized with a actual block of ice it works amazing! The ice is fluffy like snow and perfect :) just keep in mind a bag of ice or cubes will come out crushed. Hope this review helps make your mind up anout purchasing. (Posted on 12/9/2016)

Unit exceeded my expectations. I've used it at four different events now and from heavy usage to light usage it's handled everything. The only slight drawback is under heavy usage(running it 15-20 minutes) in between filing it with ice, the bottom spout will sometimes get clogged. The ice compacts in the bottom return after it's been ground up if you don't give it time to melt away or unclog it manually. This is due to the water melting from the ice being ground up above. Easy resolution is to TURN THE MACHINE OFF... then wait until the blades stop spinning and use a plastic spoon to assist gravity in pushing the ice down into the bowl. It doesn't happen very often and for the way most people use it, it will not be an issue. Fantastic product. Couple this with "MONIN" syrups.. huge success. (Posted on 12/7/2016)

One of our elderly patients needed a lot of palatable ice after his hospital visit. I looked at a lot of units and many were "hobby" type stuff. This unit was packaged well and is solidly built. It can really process ice rapidly. The motor doesn't bind down and the texture of the ice is like snow. (we may do a snowcone party this summer).

The only surprise is the outlet for ice dumps it near the edge of the bowl - not in the middle as I would have expected. As you grind the ice cubes you need to turn the bowl. And here is a tip (not a problem) be sure and replace the bowl in the unit after dumping the shaved ice because it will continue to drip for a while. (Posted on 12/7/2016)

This machine works as advertised. Very quick, never bogged down, just beautiful fluffy ice.
I was not only impressed by the machine but by how quickly it arrived, several days earlier than predicted. Even the packaging was impressive, tough as a tank.
It went through 40lbs of ice with ease, my students were thrilled.
Hint: For a large group, precool a separate ice chest to hold the finished snow and then use an ice cream scoop to make your snow cones. (Posted on 12/7/2016)

After purchasing and going through 4 cheaper snow cone machines in a little over a year, I bought this one. I give the machines heavy use as I am an ice addict. This machines produces a wonderful "snow' ice, best described as cold cotton candy (just not as sweet). It is totally stainless steel as advertised and produces a bowl of snow ice from cubes in seconds. I am very happy so far. The machine arrived just 5 days after ordering and includes a 2 year guarantee. If it lasts at least that long I will have more than gotten my money's worth. I definitely recommend this machine.
